Avon Tennis promotes the playing of tennis and padel for the benefit of the inhabitants of Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We work closely with our sport’s governing body, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), to develop the sport in our area.
Our vision is to open up tennis to everyone by making it safe, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable. We aim to ensure tennis and padel are accessible to all.
The services we provide include:
• Supporting tennis and padel venues, volunteers, coaching staff and key stakeholders
• Venue and coach forums
• Assistance to venues on coach recruitment
• Junior and adult county teams (County Cup)
• Junior and adult inter-club leagues
• Annual junior and adult County Championship
• Supporting national LTA competitions and initiatives
• Annual LTA Awards scheme
• Supporting disability and inclusion development programmes
• Providing grants and loans for LTA-registered venues in our area.
All LTA registered venues (clubs, parks, universities etc.) are encouraged to join Avon Tennis free of charge to enable them to access our support, attend our AGM and influence our activities.
A number of organisations and suppliers work with Avon Tennis to deliver our tennis programme. These partnerships help us fund initiatives which would not be possible otherwise. Examples include disability events, junior training camps, county cup teams, tournaments, a coach bursary scheme and a grant and loan scheme.
