Appointment of new President for Avon Tennis

Those of you who attended our Big Night Out Award celebration at Ashton Gate would have heard that Pete Bendall had recently been appointed as our new President of Avon Tennis by our Trustees. He was on hand that evening to present many of the winners with their awards.

Pete has been synonymous with tennis in Bristol for some 60 years, and during this time has undertaken numerous coaching roles on behalf of the County Association including that of Avon’s Coach and Development Officer.  He is well known and respected by our tennis community and the Trustees felt he was a stand-out choice for this prestigious position.

Tony Barker, who was our previous incumbent, had also been acting as Chair of the Executive Committee in a temporary capacity and we are now delighted to announce that he has agreed to take up the Chair’s role on a permanent basis.

The Trustees fully endorse these appointments and in accordance with our Constitution we shall seek our Members approval at our 2023 AGM.
